IPB University Reached 399th in the World in QS World University Ranking 2026

IPB University recorded a brilliant achievement in the QS World University Ranking (QS WUR) 2026 which was released on Wednesday (6/18). In the ranking, IPB University managed to penetrate the position of the world’s top 400, rising to #399 from the previous #426 in 2025 and #489 in 2024.

QS WUR 2026 is one of the world university rankings organized by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The QS WUR assessment includes aspects of research and discovery (50%), employability and outcomes (20%), learning experience (10%), global engagement (15%), and sustainability (5%).

In the Faculty Student Ratio indicator, IPB University ranks first in Indonesia while for the Sustainability indicator it ranks second nationally. In addition, IPB University experienced an increase in the Academic Reputation indicator, which indicates the increasing recognition of the global academic community of the quality of research and education and the resulting scientific contributions.

In this year’s edition, a total of 8.467 institutions from 106 countries were evaluated, and only 1.501 institutions were included in the ranking and the results were announced. 

In Indonesia, IPB University was one of the 26 universities evaluated and ranked fifth nationally. This increase shows a positive trend in IPB University’s performance at the global level. 

Of the nine assessment indicators used by QS WUR, the three highest achievements of IPB University are in the Faculty Student Ratio indicator ranked 153rd in the world, Employer Reputation ranked 213rd in the world, and International Faculty ranked 323rd in the world.

Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, welcomed the achievement and stated that the increase in this ranking was proof of IPB University’s consistency in improving performance in the fields of research, internationalization, and innovation. 

“Alhamdulillah, IPB University’s ranking in the world continues to increase. This further shows the position of IPB University as one of the quality universities at the global level. Thank you for the support and hard work of all parties,” said Prof Arif.

Previously, in QS WUR by Subject 2024, IPB University also managed to maintain its position in the ranks of Asia’s top 10 in Agriculture and Forestry, by ranking 7th in Asia and 51st in the world for Agriculture and Forestry. (IAAS/RWA)
